336 Hours of lockdown

Posted by: Morgan in Redbullmusicevents on

If you find yourself with a bag full of scribbled notes, train tickets, receipts, toilet paper…with lyrics, random events and things that inspire you, you’re exactly what the Red Bull Music Academy is on the look out for. The Academy is a musical workshop that has travelled the world, clocked up a heap of frequent flyer points and is landing again in London in 2010. So if you eat, sleep, dream and breathe music, head down to one of the local Info Sessions to find out what it’s all about and how to get to London on Red Bull’s dime.

LA’s underground hip hop duo Blu & Exile and electronic dubstep king Kode 9 will be the special guest lecturers. Check out www.redbull.com.au for more information.

Let’s Fly Away

Posted by: 0 in Redbullgluestoreevents on

I’m guessing you think flying a plane is beyond your reach. And that you’re living your life based on the assumption that being an acrobatic airshow pilot is something that happens to other, more fabulous people. It’s too hard. You don’t have a pilot license, aviator sunnies, or access to a plane. Blah, blah, blah. What if I told you - right here and now - there is a way you can overcome these pedestrian limitations? Becoming stunt plane flyer dude or dudette doesn’t have to involve huge amounts of money, rippling biceps, or even that much skill. There is a small catch of course. The planes we’re talking about are paper planes. And the terms pilot, airshow and flying are all flirting outrageously with the truth. What I’m talking about, of course, is the Red Bull Paper Wings World Championships. If it sounds like I’ve overindulged in hyperbole let me assure you some people take paper planes plenty seriously. This year 37,808 entrants took part in 980 national events across the globe, and representatives from 71 country teams are through to the final which will be held in Germany in early May. Pilots must build their own planes from stock standard A4 paper and can compete in three disciplines: distance, airtime and acrobatics. Find out how who won and how at redbullpaperwings.com
