2 items every girl needs in their wardrobe for all 365 days.
We’re all about tran-seasonal dressing and pieces of clothing that are able to be worn all year round – rain, hail or shine! Included in this is the Cami Top and Slip Dress which are both light enough to be worn in the summer heat but still perfect for layering with when the weather becomes pretty damn chilly.
As a trending 90’s throwback (that’s definitely here to stay might we add!) the spaghetti straps and slip dresses are the best of both worlds – comfortable and fashionable.
Our favourite part about these two key wardrobe staples are their effortless ability to be dressed up or dressed down and adapted to anyones personal style whether you’re a girly girl, all about sports-luxe, a tomboy, minimalist, bohemian or classic.
We’ve put together a few styling tips for all the different ways you can style your slip dress!
1. Dress it down.
During the warmer months pop a tee on underneath for the ultimate nod to the 90s with grey, white or a stripey (but not limited to) tees being our go to’s for this trend! Come Winter time, this looks amazing with a high neckline and/or long sleeves.
Liven up the outfit with a print or a little texture if you’re looking for a little extra somethin’ somethin’ to add!
Pair it with some comfy kicks –
When it comes to these kinds of dresses and necklines it doesn’t always have to equal dressing up and fancy pants – add a more sports luxe look with a pair of awesome kicks to give it a more casual and relaxed vibe (which is perfect for when you’re on the run!).
We’re loving how Sara from Harper and Harley has styled this outfit!
Toughen up the look with a jacket or some biker boots –
Another way to keep it a little more chill in your slip dress and toughen the look up is to add an oversized jacket for some juxtaposition and bonus badass points like our main girl Ri Ri below. We’re digging the additions of a sleek black cap and simple gold jewellery too!
Another key look includes teaming up your Cami with a pair of leather-look pants or dressing down your slip dress with a pair of biker boots and a trench coat.
Or tie something around your waist for that sporty-chic feel –
Not quite cold enough to wear a jacket but not quite warm enough to go without? We’re all about the waist tie! Pop a jumper, cardigan or jacket around your waist for instant street cred. We’re all about dressing with a contrast so team the look with a pair of fresh sneakers and you’re good to go.
2. Dress it up.
Add a side split skirt and a pair of killer heels –
Keep the wow-factor feeling rolling and complete your luxe look with a pair of your finest heels, a fancy skirt or accessories. This outfit will leave you turning heads as you walk down the street and will have people asking where you got your outfit from.
3. Wear the pants
