Air Max Day was celebrated for the first time on the 26th of March 2014, when Nike re-released the original Air Max 1 in a limited edition run on the 27th anniversary of its original release. Fan events were held across the globe and in a maelstrom of coverage, from main-stream media to social media, the first Air Max Day was documented, and a new tradition born.
